I'm actually fine with it ending at the buu saga and think it was much better as an ending than the frieza or cell sagas would have been. It was a happy ending which was fitting for a positive character like goku. Plus the buu saga allowed for vegeta to finally go all the way to becoming a likeable heroic character rather than the ***** he was in the cell saga and it was great finally seeing him and goku become friends and gain respect for eachother. It ended at a tournament which was appropriate considering the manga 1st gained major popularity at the 21st tournament arc. I know lots of fans believe that it was meant to end at frieza but this rumour is completely untrue and unfounded. Both frieza and cell could have been good endings but I just couldn't picture them working out as satisfying as the real ending. As for GT it was just a rehash but was fun to watch if you put logic aside. |
| "The future of Gohan. The Future of Chi Chi. Not to mention the future of the entire universe. It all depends on me!!!! And I don't care if you're a million times stronger than me! I'm not going to let them down! So get ready Frieza because this time you're going Down!!!" | |

In all modesty, I felt that the series should've ended at the frieza saga (as it was originally supposed to) because it showcases the revenge of the saiyans, the falling of galactic emperor frieza, and goku becoming the legendary super saiyan! it also serves as a great satisfying ending to the series IMO. Btw, Akira Toriyama did indeed wanted to end the series at the frieza saga! He only continued the series due to popular demand.

Android Saga, Cell was a dumb villain IMO. The Androids should have fought and then either joined the goo side or died at the hands the of the Z senshi |

The freeza saga should have been the end. It was the pinnacle of the series IMO. |

The Cell Saga The last three chapters of the Cell Saga are even called; 223 : Finale 224 : Farewell, Warriors 225 : The Other Outcome Goku had passed on his role as the Earth's protector to Gohan, the strongest warrior in the Universe at the time. It was perfect |

"You either die a hero or stay alive long enough to become the villain" Goku died a hero and passed the torch onto Gohan. The Cell Games would've been a good ending I think. The Cell Games were also sort of similar to the ending of original Dragonball with the final fight at the world tournament between Goku and Piccolo. It's like everything came full circle. |

I think after Kid Buu's defeat but without the 28th budokai. If it ended with Goku being alive again and the whole son family being together it would have been much more perfect imo. |

I would have been ok with it ending after the Cell Saga. And I have heard something very similar to KingTut except that Cell was planned, but the Buu Saga was made strictly because of popular demand. Then again though without Buu, we wouldn't have Majin Vegeta and I mean let's be real here haha. |

I would of been fine with the defeat of Buu then seeing everyone all grown up but Goku shouldn't have left like he did. I wouldn't of mind them taking Uub out either if it kept Goku around. Edited by Professor Gohan, Aug 28 2012, 12:16 AM.

But it was NEVER actually planned to end at frieza. This is an internet rumour that just refuses to die! Search up kanzenshuu intended endings guide and it will go through all the parts of the series where toriyama considered ending the series and it makes it perfectly clear that to date there isn't a SINGLE interview with toriyama saying he planned on ending at frieza. As a matter of fact it was originally meant to end when they got all 7 dragonballs in the pilaf saga. Toriyama has actually stated that he only planned to work on the manga for 1 year but ended up doing more and more from popularity. He is also known for making stuff up as he goes along which is why we have all these plot devices. If it was really planned to end at frieza prove it by finding me 1 genuine interview of him saying this. |

Lol Finally, another chap that felt the series ending as how it ended as great as much as I do! Frieza or even Cell Saga ending could've been devastating. The former was 20 filler episode fight & ending with that would've been a disaster. The latter was boring one-sided beat down ny a cocky brat which resulted in the death of his own Dad. A fitting ending. Just like Miz, really, REALLY? Fast forward 10 years ahead, with 28th Budoukai, plus inclusion of new character Uub & an epic fight (greatly underrated) which defined the series over the years, while staying true to Goku's character, Toriyama nailed it right! |

The last fight was 4 pages long, I wouldn't really call it all that epic

Lol Number of pages dont define epic my friend So much goin into a particular confrontation, the substance represents that. Goku's revelation on Kid Boo's reincarnate, Piccolo's words on Goku vs Uub, plus the storyline itself intertwining with Goku's character is nothin short of epic. At least for me. Btw, I dont think 10/12 page of Vegeto vs Boohan as epic

We all say the series should've ended at the Cell games/Frieza saga. But then we realise that we would miss out on the awesomeness that is ssj3 and ssj2 gohan |
